Elantris was the capital of Arelon: gigantic, beautiful, literally radiant, filled with benevolent beings who used their powerful magical abilities for the benefit of all. Elantris was the centre of Arelon, a place of magic, healing, and incredible wealth, and a home to people transformed by the magic they wielded into shining silver demigods, magicians of the Shaod. If you've been reading my blog, you know that I've really wanted to read this for a while. But we review some of the best books of 2011, look at some hot new ones coming out soon, and wrap-up our final thoughts on Elantris. I think she may have suffered from the sheod and just doesn't want to admit it. As you can probably guess from the title of this post, I'm reading Elantris right now - and what's more, it's one of the first books I ever reviewed (right back here, if you're interested). I found myself cluing in to what was about to happen a number of times just before the events or epiphanies transpired. I have to admit, I am glad to be able to read just one book, don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of great epic fantasy literature (can we say David Eddings? Elantris by Brandon Sanderson A quick summary stolen from the back cover: Elantris was beautiful, once. Elantris, by Brandon Sanderson, is a stand alone fantasy novel.
